The Zombie Apocalypse Book Tag

I was nominated for this tag by Bee from Let Books Bee! It looks really fun too :D So the rules are basically that you choose 5 books from your physical book shelf and each book will have two questions. You flip through the book to a random page and the first name you see will be the answer to that question. For example: "Who is the first to get shot?" *opens to random page* Day from Legend!
It's pretty easy ^.^

My 5 books :p
The Books I chose ----->

My first book is Sent by Margaret Peterson Haddix. I first read this book six years ago and it had been one of my favorite ones. It isn't my favorite now, but it's still a decent book ^.^ a very cool concept to it.

The next book I have chosen is The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. This book tore my chest open and ripped out my heart...but I still loved it a lot

My third book choice is Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick. This book was my favorite of the series. Such a sweet ending

The next book isss Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare! Even with the sad ending, this was still my favorite in this favorite out of all of her books actually ;)

And last but not least is House of Hades by Rick Riordan. One of my absolute favorite books by far. I cannot wait until Blood of Olympus comes out!!

Okay *claps hands* Now lets get down to business with answering the questions ^.^

So the first book to recieve it's questions iss *crowd hold breath* The Fault in Our Stars!!

The first question is First person to die? Augustus....well that makes sense xD At least he got to die a different way...unless the cancer killed him right when the zombies attacked...hmm *taps chin* I wonder what the case was XD

Next question is The person you trip to get away from the Zombies? I really can't see myself tripping anyone...but if it's me or them...well...xD Hazel...Well at least she can be with her love? I never really liked her anyway. "I'm a grenade," she says, well there ya go, you can blow up the zombies for me XP

Our next book will beee.....Sent!

The third question is The first person to turn into a Zombie? Jonah :O but who's going to take all the kids back to their real timeee? Nooo Dx

Fourth question! The person that trips YOU to get away from the Zombies? JB >:O What a jerk! And I liked you too! *grumbles*

The next book to be chosen is *drum roll* The House of Hades

Fifth question ^.^ The Idiot of the team? Poseidon! There's a God on my team?! Well hallelujah! xD Although I don't think he would take kindly to being called the idiot...even though most Gods are ^^

Sixth questionnnn :D The "Brains" of the team? Jason...well that's slightly reassuring xD He's the only one with any common sense in this book it seems...well besides Percy that is ^.^

Next up we have Clockwork Princess :D

Seventh question! The team's medic? Gabriel...*taps chin* I suppose he would be a good medic. He's a jerk but I'm sure he could stick someone up if need be. Shadowhunters know a thing or two about first aid I'm suree

Eighth question :p The weapon expert? I'm glad I chose Clockwork Princess for this least the people really are weapon experts ;) WILL!! :DD Yay! I was hoping to get him! He's one of the best weapons people in that book ^.^

And the last book we have is Finale ;)

Nineth Question iss The Brawler? Patch! Yess! He's a good fighter ^.^ I'm happy with that choice

And the tenth and final question...The team captain? How can I answer this with anyone but myself? That would leave me without a job if I didn't! Plus I don't trust anyone in Finale to run my team the way it should be run. Period. ;)

I really liked doing this!! Had a lot of fun! Thanks for the nomination Bee! So I now nominate:
Carina from My Addiction Books
Laura from Blue Eyed Books
If anyone else would like to do this tag then feel free ^.^ It's a lot of fun!

Questions from Bookmarks and Blogging

If you could rewrite any book, which would you pick? Why?
I would probably rewrite The Winter People by Rebekah L. Purdy because the concept was really interesting but her execution of it just didn't meet my expectations.

Do you have more read or unread books on your shelves?
I have more unread books unfortunately.

What is the most unusual book you've read?
Hmm...most unusual...I actually can't think of an answer to that question. Maybe Alpha Girl? That was pretty weird in my opinion.

What do you enjoy most about blogging?
I enjoy getting my opinion about the books I read out there in the open the most.

Are you a fast reader or a slow reader?
I'm average? If I really enjoy the book I can finish it in a few hours, but if I'm not enjoying the book then it could take me weeks to finish. So I can be both depending on the book.

Do you prefer e-books or physical books? Why?
I used to answer this question with physical books because I like the feel of a real book in my hands and I love the smell of books (I know, I'm weird xD) but now I have to say e-books because I can read them at school with out teachers yelling at me to get the book off my desk and I can easily take a book with me to the store if my mom is taking too long to shop.

Which of your books has the most beautiful cover?
Despite The Winter People being a disappointing read, I have to say that it does have one beautiful cover.

If you were a superhero what would you power be? What would you do with it?
I would want the power to teleport. This way I would be able to visit all of my closest online friends without much trouble.

What is your favorite genre? Why?
I think that my favorite would have to be dystopian because I think it's cool to read about all the different ways people think our country or our world is going to end and become.

If you had to pick one food to eat for the rest of your life, what would you pick?
Ooh that's a hard one...One food? Gosh...I don't know...I really like Olive Garden's Parmesan chicken. It's one of my favorites...but so is fettuccini alfredo...damn I don't know what to pick! *taps chin* lets just go with the fettuccini alfredo

Which book by your favorite author is your favorite?
I don't really have a favorite author either...I should probably say Richelle Mead is my favorite author since I love Adrian...Yeah...That's the easy answer *nods* and my favorite book of hers (so far) is The Fiery Heart. So many Sydrian moments!

Questions from Anne Books

Did you ever not finish a book? Why?
Unfortunately I have not finished quite a few books, although most of them were books I had to read for school and not ones I chose to read for pleasure. They were just too boring for me.

If you must burn one book that you own, which one would it be and why?
BURN A BOOK?! That's horrible! How am I supposed to burn a book?? Sure I don't like some books but burn them?! I can't! I won't! It goes against my nature! *glares at question* I can't believe you're making me do this. I suppose, if I actually must burn a book it would be The Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. That book just didn't do it for me.

What is your favorite series/trilogy of all time and why?
Hmm that's a hard one. I think my favorite series of all time would have to be either the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead, or Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. I can't possibly pick.

If you could kill one author and not go to jail for it, who would it be and why?
I'd probably kill John Green. When he writes he tears your heart out at the end of the story and that is just unacceptable, not matter how much of a genius he is or how good his books are.

In which language do you mostly read?
I can only speak one language, which is English, so all of my books are English.

Do you have a list of books that you want to buy? If so, how many books are on it?
I don't necessarily have a list written down anywhere, but if my to be read list counts as a list of books I want to read then it would have over 800 books on it.

Do you take notes (while or after reading) or do you just write down thoughts while writing a review?
I just write down all of my stray thoughts while I'm writing my reviews. There are times when I'm too sucked into a book that I don't even think about writing down what I think.

Which year (school or college) are you in?
I am a senior in high school, which is year 12 here...I don't know what that would be in other countries though. There are so many different variations in the schooling system it mystifies me.

What was the most horrible book you had to read in school?
The worst book I had to read in school, that I actually read all the way through, was most likely The Scarlet Letter. I had to read it out loud just to get through it, it was so boring.

If you could only bring three books to your new apartment, which three would you bring and why?
I would bring The Fault in Our Stars, Bloodlines, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix because those were all books that I feel impacted my life the most.

How many books do you have in total?
I have to count?! *sighs* I'll be back......

So I have just finished counting...I have 301 books including all of my eBooks....That's way more than I thought I had..

1. Let Books Bee
2. A Whimsical Reader
3. A Perfection Called Books
4. My Addiction Books
5. Natasha's Little World
6. Blue Eye Books
7. Brandy Nacole
8. My Fantabulous Bookshelf
9. Books Equal Awesomness

My Questions
1. Do you like reviewing books you liked or didn't like better?
2. If you were tossed into the world of the Hunger Games, who would you want as your ally?
3. During a zombie apocalypse, what would be your weapon of choice?
4. What is your favorite book to movie adaptation?
5. What is the book that you turn to for comfort?
6. Say you got locked inside a Barnes and Nobles for days on end with nothing to do but read, what section of the store would you start at?
7. What book character do you think you are like the most?
8. If you were stuck on an island and were only allowed to bring three things with you, what would they be?
9. If there was one song that described you, what would it be?
10. What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books?
11. Love triangles? Love them or hate them?

Throwback Thursday #2

Description: A weekly meme hosted by yours truly that goes through any news that happened during the previous week.

Oh my gosh! I should have written this last night so I could post it this morning but stupid me forgot and now here I am rushing to get this out. So first things first...I HAD MY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!! I'm officially a senior now :D It was a crazy first day. We had two rallies, 30 minute classes, and food trucks at lunch! Can anyone say AWESOME? XD But it was really hot at the last rally and I have a feeling AP English is going to kill me .-.Oh yeah! I forgot to give an update with my schedule! So my senior year schedule is as follows:
-American Government
-AP English
-Honors Chemistry
-Pre Calculus
-Spanish 3
-AP US History

It's a pretty loaded schedule for a senior but if I want to bump up my GPA and get into my dream college then I need the extra load.

Another update is that since school has officially started, I may not have as much time to post every day. So if I miss a day then it's because I'm so loaded with work that I just don't have time. But don't worry! I'll try and post once a week at the minimum and you still have my reviews to look forward to ;)

Teaser Tuesday #2

Description: A weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading where you share two teasers from your current read in order to get others to seek out that book.

So, I'm thinking that this weeks Teaser Tuesday will be on Sarah J. Mass' The Assassin's Blade. Not a lot of people have read the novellas, heck I didn't even know there were novellas xD

Source of Pic: GoodReads

A block of stone crashed near her. Celaena’s heart gave a lurch. Sam.
He couldn't be dead. Not from that dagger, or those dozen pirates, or from the catapult. No, Sam couldn't be so stupid that he’d get himself killed. She’d … she’d … Well, she’d kill him if he was dead.
Drawing her sword despite the ache in her arm, she made to rush into the half-wrecked tower, but a dagger pressed against her neck halted her in her tracks.
“I don’t think so,” Rolfe whispered in her ear.

But embracing Sam was different, somehow. Like she wanted to curl into his warmth, like for one moment, she didn’t have to worry about anything or anybody.
“Sam,” she murmured into his chest.
She peeled away from him, stepping out of his arms. “If you ever tell anyone about me embracing you … I’ll gut you.”
Sam gaped at her, then tipped his head back and laughed. He laughed and laughed, until dust lodged in his throat and he launched into a coughing fit. She let him suffer through it, not finding it very funny at all.
When he could breathe again, Sam cleared his throat. “Come on, Sardothien,” he said, slinging an arm around her shoulders. “If you’re done liberating slaves and destroying pirate cities, then let’s go home.”
Celaena glanced at him sidelong and grinned.

I just love Sam! I can't wait for more of their relationship! I hope you guys enjoyed the teasers ;)

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #2

Description: A weekly meme hosted by Book Journey to announce what is on the currently reading shelf for that week and for other bloggers to share what they are reading.

Yes I know this is just a book of novellas, but these are important novellas XD Sam Cortalnd is in themmm!!! We get a glimpse of the relationship Caelena had before she went to be Prince Dorian's champion. I'm about halfway done with this and I love it! I love the tension with the characters and the fights and just...everything! Sarah J. Maas is a fantastic writer ^^

This book got picked for me in a book swap and I'm looking forward to starting it because the movie was fantastic ^^

Well that's all I had to add today! See y'all later!

-My great uncle died on Monday and his funeral is on Saturday. I worry about my aunt but I think that it was a blessing he finally passed. He had bee suffering awhile.
-Tomorrow I go back to my school and pick up my schedule for the year! I'm nervous and excited to see what classes I've been given due to the fact that it's my last year. I shall let y'all know my classes when I find out!

Teaser Tuesday #1

Description: A weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading where you share two teasers from your current read in order to get others to seek out that book.

Hey y'all! My first Teaser Tuesday! :D So this week I thought that I would do my teasers on Katie McGarry's Take Me On. This is not my favorite current read at the moment but I was reading it right before I started writing this and some of the teasers were just perfect! So with out further adieu *drum rolls*

Source of Pic: GoodReads
My mouth goes dry. No one had kissed me since Matt. No one kissed me before Matt. I avoid thoughts of kisses and of dating and of boyfriends and relationships, because the last time didn't work out so well. But Matt never kissed me like that, not even after I gave him my virginity.
Never did he kiss me in such a way that my insides bloomed, or in a way that I saw color in darkness, or in a way that made me want to kiss anyone back like how West kissed me.
It wasn't even on my lips; it was on my hand.

"Hayley..." He hesitates.
Silences seem longer in darkness. I think it's because it's harder to lie when the lights are off. There's a rawness that only belongs to the night and the truth can't help but be set free.
"I hate to ask, but I need to know. What are the shelters like?"
I fold into myself, absolutely crushed. My dirty little secret isn't such a secret after all. "Did Jessica tell you?"
She knew because her mother had volunteered her to work the shelter's kitchen one day as punishment for stealing money out of her purse. I can't begin to express the utter embarrassment and horror I felt the moment our eyes met over a tray of scalloped potatoes.
"Yes," he admits.
"And you were going to tell me this when?"
"I'm telling you now."

And there ya have it!! Some of the moments in this book are good and if you've read the beginning of this series then I recommend reading this one, but I don't think it's the best ^^

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #1

Description: A weekly meme hosted by Book Journey to announce what is on the currently reading shelf for that week and for other bloggers to share what they are reading.

Hey guys! So this is my first meme *throws confetti* I'm excited to get this blog going ^^ Now let's get down to business!

So one of the books I'm reading this week is Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas :D I've already read this book but since Heir of Fire is coming out soon I wanted to have a reread with some of my friends!

Another book I'm currently reading is Take Me On by Katie McGarry! I'm enjoying this so far, but it's not one of my favorites in the series. That one goes to Crash Into You, the third book ^^ I hope to finish this sometime this month, so look out for a review regarding that in the near future.

Finally, the last book that I'm reading is The Winter People by Rebekah L. Purdy, an ARC that I'm reading for the Fangirling Misses blog! That review will be up on Fangirling Misses in the next week hopefully so don't forget to head over there and check it out :D

That's all I have for you today my fellow bloggers! Check in tomorrow for my first Teaser Tuesday!

Silver Shadows ~ Richelle Mead

Source of Pic: GoodReads
Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Average Rating on GoodReads: 4.5 out of 5 Stars
Pages: 380

Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives.

In The Fiery Heart, Sydney risked everything to follow her gut, walking a dangerous line to keep her feelings hidden from the Alchemists.

Now in the aftermath of an event that ripped their world apart, Sydney and Adrian struggle to pick up the pieces and find their way back to each other. But first, they have to survive.

For Sydney, trapped and surrounded by adversaries, life becomes a daily struggle to hold on to her identity and the memories of those she loves. Meanwhile, Adrian clings to hope in the face of those who tell him Sydney is a lost cause, but the battle proves daunting as old demons and new temptations begin to seize hold of him. . . .

Their worst fears now a chilling reality, Sydney and Adrian face their darkest hour in this heart-pounding fifth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where all bets are off.

***Possible Spoilers. Read at your own risk***

You all knew this was coming and what better book to use for my first review on here than a book about Adrian? Oh, Adrian <3 I love you with all my heart *stares dreamily*

..... *blinks and snaps out of daydream* Oops, sorry XD Anyways! Onto the review ^^

Let me just say that I absolutely loved this book! I don't think there are a lot of things that I can criticize so this just may end up being a review of me gushing over it...but I'll try not to do that for your sakes ;)

Lets start off with the fact that it's dual POV AGAIN!! :D That automatically makes it better because you get a glimpse into Adrian's brain and that's always my favorite parts. You get Sydney's time in re-education and how absolutely horrible it is, and then you get Adrian's struggles in finding her. There were parts when I wanted to smack Adrian upside the head for being stupid but in the end it made everything right <3

Sydney: She's just one badass character. No matter how much torture they put her through, she never broke. The only time she ever talked was if they were hurting people because of her. She's selfless and brave and just all around an amazing character and I have to give props to Richelle for the amount of character development went into Sydney throughout the whole series.

Sydney has grown a lot since the first book and we see here just how strong she is. Even while she's in re-education, she still manages to help the others by making the solution that stops the effects of the re-inking that the Alchemists do on the other detainees. She's definitely one of my favorite main characters by far ^^

Adrian: What can I say about him? He's funny, smart, sensitive, and probably one of the best book boyfriends I've ever read about. Sure he's had his ups and downs.. Nina *scowls*... But overall he stayed on point about finding Sydney. I know there were some of you that wanted Rose to end up with Adrian in VA but in my opinion, their relationship was a disaster waiting to happen. Rose never pushed Adrian to be a better person; Sydney does. I mean look at all Adrian has accomplished by just being with her! He quit smoking and drinking, to an extent, and he actually finished a semester of college. If he was with Rose, none of that would have happened.

Sydrian: Sydrian...It totally happened in this book!! Oh my gosh! I so was not expecting that to happen but I have to admit I'm glad it did. And what didn't I expect might you ask? Well...I'll get to that in a moment *evil laugh* XD

Now on to the plot of the book!

So, the opening scene is with Sydney in re-education. I'm glad that Richelle started it off like that. We get the feel of it being months later and that Sydney is still staying strong. It ties in with the ending to The Fiery Heart perfectly!

Then it switches to Adrian's POV and we see his struggles. Neither of them can connect with the other and it's reflected in everything that Adrian does. Being apart from Sydney had him going back to some of his old habits...habits that he shouldn't have even considered going back to no matter how broken up about Sydney he had gotten.

Jill...being the sweetheart that she is, did something unexpected. She called his mother.

Yes yes. Such a shock! Daniella Ivashkov is out of prison everyone! But I don't think that she really learned anything during the time she served like she told Adrian she had. Daniella takes Adrian to court with her in order to get him out of his little funk. That just ends up making him act like even more of an ass -.- He starts partying with Nina, the other spirit user who saved her sister Olive from being a Strigoi.

All of this is happening while Sydney is struggling in Re-education. The other detainees avoid her, making her an outcast. The only person who talks to her is this guy named Duncan. Duncan has his own back story about a friend of his, Chantall, and only talks to Sydney when he thinks it's okay.

It's when she starts asking about the drug that gets pumped through to their rooms each night that things start getting interesting. Emma, Sydney's roommate, helps her turn off the gas so that she can try and reach Adrian through her dreams. The only problem is that Adrian had started drinking more and more and checking in with her less and less that she wasn't able to reach him until days later.

Their reunion was bittersweet <3 Anyways. The only reason Adrian connected with her was because Nina, I don't like her -.-, had kissed him and he had enough sense to push her away and stop drinking.

This all leads to him going back to Palm Springs and recruiting the help of Marcus, Eddie and Trey. This all seems like it could be the start of a funny joke...A Moroi, a Dhampir, a human, and an ex-Alchemist set off on an adventure....*crickets chirp* No? Okay XD

So while Adrian and the clan are attempting a rescue mission, Sydney is doing her own form of rescuing in re-education. She gives the others the ink that stops the effects of the re-inking that the Alchemists give them to make them behave.

Gah this is getting too long >.<

Fast forward through the rescue mission where everyone is reunited and Sydney tells Adrian that they aren't going to Marcus' safe house. This in turn leads them to be almost captured by Alchemists again...Then Adrian gets a fantastic idea!! MARRIAGE!! :DDD

Lissa had said something to him about protecting those who are her subjects and Adrian figured that if Sydney was married to him, then Lissa would have to protect her too.

So Sydney Sage finally becomes Sydney Ivashkov! <333 My heart was melting throughout the whole scene!

They get chased by more Alchemists but finally manage to get away and fly to court...what low and behold her father and Zoe are there....

Lissa has them escorted out when Adrian makes this long declaration of love (so touching <3) and everything is okay, for now.

The next more though....Jill is missing. Now I totally can't wait for the next book!

Sorry that was so long D: I didn't mean for it to be xD
