Sisterhood of the World Bloggers #2

I was tagged by the lovely Nori at ReadWriteLove28! Now since I was just tagged not that long ago by Dana, I'm just going to answer Nori's questions and skip the part where I tag people :)

1.) Thank the blogger that nominated you, and link back to their blog in your post.
2.) Post the award’s logo on your blog.
3.) Answer the ten question asked by the nominator.
4.) Nominate ten bloggers for the award
5.) Ask your nominees ten questions.

Questions from Nori:

1. What is your favorite book that the title starts with the first letter of your name?
That would probably have to be Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep. I obsessed over that series for so long...I still haven't read the last book though come to think of it o.O *adds to list*

2. What was the last ebook/eARC that you read?
If this is only counting ones I finished then I think that would be Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake last month...If I can count DNF books then it's We Should Hang Out Sometime by Josh Sundquist

3. Do you prefer paperbacks or hardbacks?
I actually prefer paperbacks because I'm not as afraid to open the book if it's new xD I guess I'm afraid the cover could get bent but I hate opening a new hardback because I think it's worse to crack the spine of a hardback than a paperback

4. What book is at the top of your I NEED NOW list of 2015 releases?
Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead...Oh my gosh I need that book now...I don't just want it, I NEED it more than anything.

5. Do you listen to music when you read? If so, what type of music?
I can't really listen to music while I read, it makes me read passages over and over again because I keep losing my place.

6. How long is your TBR list on Goodreads?
Ha. I don't think you want to know XD There's almost 1,000 books on it, I can tell you that much

7. What is your favorite book quote?
I know this is going to sound cliche or whatever, but my favorite quote is
"Pain demands to be felt."
I related to that quote a lot when I read The Fault in Our Stars. *shrugs* It's just really true.

8. Who is your book boyfriend?
Adrian Ivashkov *sighs dreamily* <333

9. If you could live in any fictional world, what world would you pick?
I think I would live in NeverNever from The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. I think it would be so pretty to live there even if the Fae are sneaky, vindictive people xD

10. What character (in any book) reminds you the most of yourself?
Cath from Fangirl. I share a lot of the fears she had in the beginning of the book and have slowly learned to overcome them like she has. She was one of the first characters where I was like "that is so me" and not just because she was a fangirl as well xD

It's that thankful time of year

I know not everyone celebrates Thanksgiving, but we all have something to be thankful for.To those who DO celebrate, Happy Thanksgiving. I hope y'all have a good one :) I almost forgot to write this post to tell you the truth xD but I want to tell all of you that I am so, so thankful that I've met you and that I can be apart of the blogger community.

I have met so many people in my short time of blogging and I have to say that it has been the best 4 months. I wouldn't be here, writing this post, today if it weren't for Cassie and Belle from Fangirling Misses. We didn't meet by blogging, but they were the ones that showed me what it was like to blog and helped me out when I first started. I owe a lot to them. Then there's Bee over at Let Books Bee...she helped me a lot when I first started too. We actually made our blogs together! We Skyped as we were coming up with our names and we went through the beginning process together. I'm glad to have her as a friend.

Then I'm grateful for the publishers and authors. I never thought that after only a short time of blogging I would have the chance to read any ARCs, e-Copies or otherwise, But thanks to Netgalley and Edelweiss, I've been given the chance to read some pretty good books!

So thank you, thank you to everyone who has helped me and thank you to all of my followers and friends that I have made during this journey. I hope to have many months and years to continue talking with everyone. I love you guys. Have a happy Thanksgiving

Top Ten Tuesday #5

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created over at The Broke and The Bookish

This week's topic is top ten books on your winter TBR

Usually I don't make a TBR list because I never stick to it but maybe if I do end up making one it'll help me choose which books to read next! Let's see how well this goes...xD

1. Envy by Gregg Olsen
I just started this's okay so far :)

2. The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma
I received this one from Netgalley and need to start reading it soon!

3. Cursed by Fire by Jacquelyn Frank
I got this one for review from Edelwiess :D I love Greek mythology books!

4. The Collectors' Society by Heather Lyons
I've heard great things about this book!

5. Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
I need to read this...asap..

6. Blood Red Road by Moira Young
Heard it was weird but good so I want to give it a try

7. In The Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken
*grabby hands* GIMMIE

8. Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Yes...I need to finish this series even though I'm scared out of my mind..

9. The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan
Last book *sniff* I don't want it to end D:

10. Ruins by Dan Wells
I love Samm and Kira and I can't wait to finish this series...they need to be together already!

What books are on your winter TBR?

We Should Hang Out Sometime by Josh Sundquist

We Should Hang Out Sometime by Josh Sundquist
Average Rating on Goodreads:3.75 of 5 Stars
My Rating: DNF at 25%
Page Count: 336

A bright, poignant, and deeply funny autobiographical account of coming of age as an amputee cancer survivor, from Josh Sundquist: Paralympic ski racer, YouTube star, and motivational speaker.

Josh Sundquist only ever had one girlfriend.
For twenty-three hours.
In eighth grade.

Why was Josh still single? To find out, he tracked down the girls he had tried to date and asked them straight up: What went wrong?

The results of Josh's semiscientific, wholly hilarious investigation are captured here. From a disastrous Putt-Putt date involving a backward prosthetic foot, to his introduction to CFD (Close Fast Dancing), to a misguided "grand gesture" at a Miss America pageant, this story is about looking for love--or at least a girlfriend--in all the wrong places.

**I received an e-copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review**

I thought that this book would end up being a little more like Love and Other Unknown Variables, but it really wasn't...I was sorely disappointed in this book and I really wanted to like it. The writing wasn't as strong as it could have been, the characters had no deapth, I just could not connect to anything that was happening on an emotional level and considering Josh's past, you would think I could.

I had the intent of finishing this book because I really hate marking books DNF, I feel like I'm shirking my duties as a blogger, but then I realized that I have so many books I need to read right now and I don't have time to spend it on a book I know I will never like regardless of how much of it I read.

So, no, I didn't like this book, but that doesn't mean other people won't enjoy it.

Book Blogger Tag

Thank you Anna for tagging me! I feel like I've done a book blogger tag before but these questions are new so I figured I would do it ^.^

1. How many times do you check your email a day?
So much I can't even count xD If I leave it for a couple hours I'll come back and have like 25 emails *shakes head*

2. How many times are you on Goodreads?
A few times a day, although I'm on less now because it's lost the wow factor it had when I first joined over a year ago

3. How long does it take you to edit your posts?
I don't really edit so not that long

4. What kind of laptop do you use?
An Acer Aspire

5. How often do you check Twitter?
I'm on it 24/7 pretty much unless I don't have wifi, which doesn't happen very much

6. Why do you use the blogging website you do?
Because when I first started blogging, I had started on a blog with my friends and it was what they used so when I branched out and made my own blog I just made one using Blogspot because I already knew how to use it and thought it was fairly simple

7. Are you good at keeping up with reviews, tags, ect?
Well considering I've written three tags and one review today and I still have one more to write I would have to say I do my best xD Usually I'm pretty good at keeping up with all of my tags and things but this week I didn't have my laptop and I hate writing posts on my iPod

8. How many times a week do you post?
That really just depends on how busy I am that week and if I get time to read. I usually post my memes on time and I only really do 3 of those so at the least I post 2-3 times a week

I tag:
Nori at Read Write Love
Belle and Cassie at Fangirling Misses
Sandee at A Whimsical Reader

Folding the corners to mark a page....last year I got a book with all the corners cut off as a gag gift -_- I still have the book but I can't read it because the corners bother me..

9. What's your favorite part of blogging?
Meeting new people! I've made so many friends blogging and I wouldn't change a thing about it

10. What subject do you think more books should be written about?

11. Besides reading, what's your favorite thing to do in free time?

Questions from Kitty and Fari

Sydney and Adrian of course! Even though I wish Adrian was mine and mine only, Sydney is really good for him and they balance each other out fantastically

7. Recommend us a book that isn't really well-known
The Prince of Wolves by Quinn Loftis! It's not veeeery well written but the humor makes up for it. It's my comfort read :)

8. What book have you refused to read despite the hype around it?
I'm going to say Cinder because every time I'm given the chance to read it and actually have time I just...don't. I can't say why, but I've done my best to steer clear of reading it

9. Favorite booktubers?
Kelly from Kelly's Book Spills! Shes's my absolute favorite because she's just so sassy. She reminds me of my best friend xD

11. Do you prefer longer books or short, quick reads?
It just depends on the book. If it's a good book I'd rather it be longer so that it won't end as quickly, but if it's a bad book I want it to be a short quick read

8. On a scale of 1-10 how crazy do you get if something doesn't go right on your blog?
9. If you were to meet your favorite author of all time, how would you react?
10. Coke or Pepsi?
11. Tell me 3 facts about you that I wouldn't know just by looking at you

Lailah by Nikki Kelly

Lailah by Nikki Kelly
Average Rating on Goodreads: 3.9 of 5 stars
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars
Page Count: 352

The girl knows she’s different. She doesn’t age. She has no family. She has visions of a past life, but no clear clues as to what she is, or where she comes from. But there is a face in her dreams – a light that breaks through the darkness. She knows his name is Gabriel.

On her way home from work, the girl encounters an injured stranger whose name is Jonah. Soon, she will understand that Jonah belongs to a generation of Vampires that serve even darker forces. Jonah and the few like him, are fighting with help from an unlikely ally – a rogue Angel, named Gabriel.

In the crossfire between good and evil, love and hate, and life and death, the girl learns her name: Lailah. But when the lines between black and white begin to blur, where in the spectrum will she find her place? And with whom?

Gabriel and Jonah both want to protect her. But Lailah will have to fight her own battle to find out who she truly is

So...Laiah...gosh not writing a review for a book in so long puts a damper on things...I know what I want to say but then at the same time I don't..

I guess I'll start with what my expectations had been. You guys will not believe how excited I was to get this book from the library. I had been waiting forever to read this because every time I went online my library card wouldn't work and I didn't have enough money to buy it. I had also talked to Nikki on twitter and found that she was an amazing person! I just had to have her book and when I finally got it I figured that I would devour it within a day...however that was not the case. It actually took me three weeks to finish it. The main reason for that was because I was just busy but I also felt no motivation to at all /:

The book itself was actually pretty good! It wasn't magnificent like I had been thinking it would be but I would still read the sequel because the ending was fantastic! All the back and forth between Jonah and Gabriel got on my nerves a little because I felt that the book should have focused more on who the hell Lailah really was and not who she loved. I wouldn't have minded a little romance because a book is not complete without at least something romantic happening...but it was kinda insta loveish and I didn't like that.

Also the word choices were a little off o.O Like...certain words Nikki used for certain actions just didn't seem like the best words she could have used...and a lot of the time it felt like she was personifying everyone as animals...

Other than those things though, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The concept was unique and she is a really talented writer. The chracters were pretty relatable which is hard to do and I could easily feel the emotions of everyone within myself :D I do recommend this to others, especially those who are looking for something new :D

Waiting On Wednesday #1 - Joyride by Anna Banks

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine that spotlights new upcoming books that readers are looking forward to reading.

This week I'm waiting on Joyride by Anna Banks

A popular guy and a shy girl with a secret become unlikely accomplices for midnight pranking, and are soon in over their heads—with the law and with each other—in this sparkling standalone from NYT-bestselling author Anna Banks.

It’s been years since Carly Vega’s parents were deported. She lives with her brother, studies hard, and works at a convenience store to contribute to getting her parents back from Mexico.

Arden Moss used to be the star quarterback at school. He dated popular blondes and had fun with his older sister, Amber. But now Amber’s dead, and Arden blames his father, the town sheriff who wouldn’t acknowledge Amber's mental illness. Arden refuses to fulfill whatever his conservative father expects.

All Carly wants is to stay under the radar and do what her family expects. All Arden wants is to NOT do what his family expects. When their paths cross, they each realize they’ve been living according to others. Carly and Arden’s journey toward their true hearts—and one another—is funny, romantic, and sometimes harsh.

Why I'm waiting:

I've been really into contemporary books lately and for some reason this synopsis caught my eye as I was going through upcoming releases! Plus I've been meaning to read some of Anna's work for awhile now ;)

What are you waiting on this Wednesday?

Top Ten Tuesday #3

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Broke and Bookish

This weeks Top Ten list is: Top ten characters you would want to get their own book!

I am super excited about this one :D I love when authors do separate books for other characters that were front and center in the first novel(s)

1. Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars
I just have to say that if John Green ever did write a book in Augustus' point of view, it would be one heck of an emotional rollercoaster. TFiOS already was an emotional roller coaster and I couldn't imagine how much I would cry if it was in an alternative POV. I think it would be cool if he wrote it like how he said An Imperial Affliction was ended

2. Kenji Kishimoto from the Shatter Me series
I absolutely love Kenji! He was one of my favorite characters in the series and I want to know more about his past and even what happened to him after the end of Ignite Me. It would be a dream come true to know more about my favorite joker.

3. Chaol Westfall from the Throne of Glass series
I love Chaol...enough said xD I just want to be able to see into his mind!

4. Dorian Havilliard from the Throne of Glass Series
I never shipped Celaena with Dorian but he's still a sweet guy and I would like to know more about him ^.^

5. Voldemort from Harry Potter
Yeah I know...why would I want to know more about him? I just do...I would like to know the bad guy's side of things. I know they're the bad guy for a reason and they deserve a lot of the things that happen to them, but I want to know what made them that way. What made them decide to go crazy and start killing people? If anyone knows of a book written in the bad guy's pov then please please tell me! I've considered writing one myself but never found the right plot

6. Ash from Obsidian
She was always one of those characters that I was just like "what is your problem? I need to know more about you..."

7. Gabriel from Lailah
I have yet to finish no spoilers...but I still want to know more about Gabriel. I want to see inside his head and find out how he thinks.

8. Macon from Beautiful Creatures
I want to know Macon's past and his relationship with Ethan's mom. Ridely and Macon are my favorite characters from the castor chronicles and since Ridley already has her own story now I chose Macon for this list

9. Celeste from The Selection
Celeste was the bitchy girl that turned into someone you actually came to love and I just want to know more about her. What was her home life like? What made her so dead set on hurting everyone else just to get what she wanted? I know some of her story but I just want more.

10. Sierra from Sleep No More
Sierra was the experienced Oracle and the one that the bad guy of the novel really wanted to affect...I just want to know how she was as a teenager and what it was like for her to go through getting her visions.

What characters would you like to see have their own books?

Follower Appreciation Giveaway!

Okay so I was going to wait until I had 200 followers on Twitter to do my giveaway but then something happened the other day.....I got two jobs! That's right, TWO!! So I applied at Osh Kosh B'Gosh, a baby clothing store, and two days later I got a call to do an interview. While I was waiting for my interview time, I went shopping at American Eagle and the cashier told me to take an application. I wasn't sure how the interview at Osh Kosh was going to go so I was like why not? Couldn't hurt to try right? Well the interview at Osh Kosh went smashingly! The only thing that stopped her from hiring me right there and then was that my background check would still have to go through. So, after the interview I filled out the application for American Eagle and turned it in that same day...what I wasn't expecting was for her to ask me to come in for an interview the next day! And guess what? That interview went fantastic as well! So there I was...two job offers...I didn't know what I was going to do. Then I realized that they would both work around my schedule so I decided to take both! You are looking at a full time student with two jobs and I just had to celebrate in some way and that way is a GIVEAWAY! :D

I'm sorry my international friends /: It's only going to be US this time. I may have two jobs now but shipping is still pretty dang expensive and I have to save up for college.

Top Ten Tuesday #2

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme created over at Broke and Bookish

This weeks topic is: Top Ten Books I want to re-read!
I love this topic! There are quite a few books I would love to pick up again if I could find the time between all the new releases

The Fault in Our Stars: I know what you're thinking..."Why would you want to submit yourself to that pain again?" My answer is simple. I love books that make me cry...idk why XD
