2015 Wrap-Up, Hello 2016!

Happy New Year's everyone! Seeing as today is the last day of 2015, I figured I would talk about all the bookish and non bookish things that transpired this year. Let me just say, 2015 was a year of many firsts.

Bookish events:

Unfortunately I didn't blog much this year...I even missed my own blogoversary! But, I have a resolution to get myself back into blogging. I'm even contemplating signing up to help someone co-blog! I just have a feeling that it will help me get back into the blogging community and keep me on track for my challenges this year.

Challenge Progress completed this year:

My goal this year was to read 105 books by today, December 31st...However, I only managed to read 39 of those 105 :( which also means I didn't complete the 105 Reading Challenge that my friend Nori created. Here are the books I did manage to complete for the challenge:

0/14 Books on my TBR the Longest

For how busy I've been this year, I have to say that I'm pretty happy with how many books I did get the chance to read. This year was a bunch of ups and downs with many new learning curves, but I'm proud that I was able to at least keep a small part of my old self my reading.

Well....This year was one heck of a year. I turned 18, graduated high school, met the love of my life, participated in a theatre production and met so many wonderful people, had the summer of my life by going on many trips (one of which included meeting a long time Goodreads friend!), moved halfway across the world away from all those that I love, and started college...So much change in such a little time and I have to say that it was a little overwhelming. Despite the incurable homesickness and the nervousness in being in a new place all alone, it definitely has been a wonderful learning experience. I have learned to function on my own without relying on my family or friends to help me. Sure, I have made plenty of friends, but I don't think any of them could ever replace my original friends from back home. My new friends go in a completely different category, one that is special all on it's own. Everyone I have met since departing from San Francisco on August 31st has become so integral to how I function in college. I lean on them for support, but have found that I am often able to support myself, which is all new to me. Being confident in my abilities is not something that ever came easily to me, but after moving, I can honestly say that I am more confident in the things I do. I'm working towards a career that I have dreamed of for the past four and a half years, and I love it.

As of right now, though, I'm currently traversing Europe with my boyfriend. We have already been to London and Amsterdam, and we have arrived today in Paris! It's so amazing to see all of the wonderful sights of these beautiful cities. It has been a wonderful adventure so far and I can't wait to see what Paris has to offer us.

2016 resolutions

1. Post at least once a week
2. 365 Commenting Challenge
3. Finishing a series challenge
4. Read 85 books this year
5. Finish my second semester of college with a BANG
6. Enjoy myself more

I hope each and every one of you have a fantastic New Year's and may 2016 bring you everything you hope for!

All the Best,

Finishing the Series Challenge

Hey guys! I've decided to join another challenge this year! Recently, I went through my Goodreads To-Read shelf and realised that I had way to many. So, I did some spring cleaning so to speak. Now I have considerably less books on my TBR list that seems a lot more possible to complete. I also realised just how many series I have yet to finish. That's what this challenge is going to help with! I made a vow saying that I wouldn't start any new series (though there are so many that I want to start!! Dx) until I finish the ones I've already started. I'm hoping that this challenge will keep me on track so I can start all those other wonderful series out there.

More information about the challenge:

It's hosted over at Bea's Book Nook and if you'd like to sign up go to her sign up post here where she has all of the rules about challenge!

Level 1 (Novice series reader) - Complete 1 series.
Level 2 (Testing the waters) - Complete 2 -4 series.
Level 3 (Experienced) - Complete 3 - 6 series.
Level 4 (Expert series reader) - Complete 7 or more series.

I'm choosing Level 4, though I haven't decided which series I'm doing yet :)

The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead

The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead
Average Rating on Goodreads: 4.2 Stars
My Rating: 5 Stars
Page Count: 348

Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets - and human lives.

Their forbidden romance exposed, Sydney and Adrian find themselves facing the wrath of both the Alchemists and the Moroi in this electrifying conclusion to Richelle Mead’s bestselling Bloodlines series.

When the life of someone they both love is put on the line, Sydney risks everything to hunt down a deadly former nemesis. Meanwhile, she and Adrian becomes enmeshed in a puzzle that could hold the key to a shocking secret about spirit magic, a secret that could shake the entire Moroi world and alter their lives forever.

Don't miss their unforgettable final chapter...

As most of you know, Adrian Ivashkov is my one and only book boyfriend and the Bloodlines series is one of my absolute favourites. The Ruby Circle is the final installment in the series and it's full of twists and turns that will leave you on the edge of your seat. I have to say that I loved the ending to this. It was definitely not something I saw coming, but it was effective and I can definitely see another series happening if Mead ever decided to write more in the world of the Moroi.

Adrian and Sydney started off the novel with many issues. Married life definitely wasn't what they had bargained for, but all throughout they find ways to make their life work, even while apart. Sydney grows into an even stronger character and even though her perfectionist ways can get a bit much, she is one of my favourite heroines.

As usual, I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ^.^ I greatly recommend that any who haven't read this series should!

Happy Reading

Commenting 365 Challenge

In 2016 I have decided to participate in a new challenge! Nori from ReadWriteLove28 is the one who came up with this wonderful idea

What is it?
This coming year I will be visiting and commenting on 365 blogs! With the help of Nori's master list and the amount of bloggers I follow on Twitter, I believe I can definitely reach this goal by the end of the year. It will also be a great way for me to get back into the groove of blogging since I've been MIA for the longest time.

If you want to add your blog to Nori's master list for those of us participating to use go HERE

And since none of us want to do this alone, if you want to participate in this challenge go HERE

I hope some of you decide to join us in this challenge, and I'm looking forward to finding some new blogs and meeting even more people! :)

November Wrap Up and December TBR

Figured since I did read in the month of November, I could do a wrap up ^.^

Bookish news:

I didn't read much in November, but I did catch up on my Throne of Glass reread! I can now start on Heir of Fire, which I have been looking forward to reading for quite some time :)

Unfortunately, I've all but given up on reaching my reading goal this year, so I don't even know where I am regarding my 105 Challenge...Hopefully Nori runs it again next year so I can give it another go

Non-bookish news:

I'm nearly done with my first semester of college! As you all know, I embarked on my journey to Ireland at the end of this summer to start an English and Economics programme at University College, Dublin. It's been a lot more difficult than I originally thought it would be...Being away from my family and my boyfriend is something I never want to do again after I finish school. Missing the holidays is so depressing and lonely that I can't wait until I go home again for the summer.
I'm going on a trip for this christmas though! It's super cheap to travel while staying in Europe, so my boyfriend and I are going to take a trip to a couple different countries this winter :D I'm extremely excited!

Decemeber TBR:

This month I'm really hoping to read the books I just recently bought:
Winter by Marissa Meyer
Splintered by A. G. Howard
Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan
Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgens

but I also am planning on rereading Harry Potter with my boyfriend while we travel and I'm hoping to at least finish Heir of Fire

All the best,

Taylor Swift Book Tag

I know I've been tagged for this before but I can't remember by who, but just recently my friend Xanie from over at Literary Legionnaire tagged me again so I figured why not? Better late than never right? XD And I also figured this would be a good way to start off with keeping my promise

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together - pick a book (or book series) you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with.
I chose the Divergent series because the first book was utterly fantastic, the second book was only okay, and by the time I got around to reading Allegiant, I couldn't even finish it.

Red -  pick a book with a red cover.

Best Day - pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic.
I think most book lovers can relate to this choice. I grew up with HP and every time I go to read it again, it always reminds me of the very first time

Love Story -  pick a book with forbidden love.
An alien/human mix? Almost as forbidden as it can get! Plus the fact that most of the Luxen race can't stand humans and went to many lengths to forbid Daemon and Katy from being together

I Knew You Were Trouble - pick a book with a bad character you can't help but love.
Roth...Roth...My darling Roth *sighs dreamily* He may be a demon...The Crown Prince at that...but hot damn I can't help but love him (though it's probably mostly lust after him in the first book xD)

Innocent -  pick a book that someone ruined the ending for.

By the time I went to read it, I didn't even care that someone spoiled me for it. I only found out the mere basics of the ending, but once my mom finished reading it I knew I wouldn't be able to bring myself to finish it so I just asked her to tell me everything that happened

Everything Has Changed - pick a character from a book who goes through extensive character development.
I think Cinder definitely goes through a lot of character development throughout the entire series (I haven't finished Winter yet!!). I don't want to spoil anything so you're just going to have to trust me on this xD

You Belong With Me -  pick your most anticipated book release.
EEEEP! I can't wait!! I'm super exited for this release (though I know I won't get to read it right when it comes out :( )

Forever and Always -  pick your favorite book couple.
Adrian and Sydney....Sydrian...They will forever be my OTP. They are literally perfect for each other. Sydney causes Adrian to focus more and be more responsible, while Adrian gets Sydney to relax and actually enjoy life. They are so, so perfect <3

Come Back, Be Here - pick a book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much.
I honestly try not to loan out any of my books because 1. Not many of my friends irl like to read and 2. I just don't trust people not to destroy them

Teardrops On My Guitar -  pick a book that made you cry a lot.

Shake It Off - pick a book that you love so much, you just shake off the haters.
It may not be the best book around, but it's such a great laugh that I love it. It's my go to comfort book

Blank Space - favorite autographed book.
I don't have any :'(

Welcome to New York - favorite setting.
The NeverNever is beautiful <3

Today was a Fairytale - favorite retelling.

And I'm going to tag anyone who hasn't done it (because I know I'm pretty late in the game) and who wants to do it :)

All the best,

A Profound Apology and a Promise

*tip toes in and looks around at the emptiness that is my blog*

Hi guys *grimaces*

So, recently I sort of gave up on my blog. I never planned it and I also didn't mean to leave it without saying anything. But I've been missing blogging a lot lately. I've been really depressed and lonely, along with unbelievably stressed because I have exams coming up soon (my first college semester is almost over!!), so I considered trying to ease myself back into it.

I still don't find much time to read because of school, but now that winter holiday's are coming up I'll hopefully be able to read a little more. However, I am going on a long vacation with my boyfriend so we'll see how it goes.

As a start though, I'm going to try and post some memes every once in awhile, and when I finish a book, I'll definitely post a review, even if it isn't directly after finishing it.

I hope you guys can forgive me for my absence, but I promise I will do my best to start posting at least once a week

All the best,
